NX Technologies and Schaeffler collaborate to industrialize high-voltage, low-power traction inverters

Strategic collaboration to industrialize NX Technologies’ O-Series inverter through Schaeffler’s manufacturing footprint, to jointly approach the motorcycles, powersports and off-road markets 

NX Technologies, a technology company specialized in compact high-performance inverters for electric mobility, and Schaeffler, the Motion Technology Company, take a new step forward in their collaboration in its joint target to bring NX’s O-Series market-leading inverter to mass production. Both companies are exploring extending this collaboration to other NX inverters in the portfolio, such as the W-Series inverters.

The successful manufacturability evaluation of NX Technologies’ ultra-compact O-Series inverter in Schaeffler manufacturing footprint, would enable both companies to offer a complete electric powertrain system, combining NX’s advanced power electronics with Schaeffler’s existing vehicle control and motor expertise, as well as high volumes automotive standard industrial capabilities. 

NX Technologies has developed the O-Series, the industry’s most compact and efficient inverters for electric powertrains of its segment. Available in 400V and 800V variants, it delivers up to 20kW continuous power in a 2kg package, making it the most power-dense inverter commercially available. ISO26262 ASIL-D capable and cybersecurity ISO21434 ready, it is already serving leading players in motorcycle, powersports and off-road segments. 

NX Technologies and Schaeffler target to bring this product to the two-wheeler, powersports and off-road segments which are undergoing rapid electrification, driven by tightening emissions regulations, growing consumer demand for high-performance electric alternatives, and increasing OEM investment in these categories.
